Cupid’s Mission

by Deborah Woolverton

Cupid was on a mission, he was searching high and low,
For a couple so deserving of the love he could bestow.
His travels took him near and far, from sea to shining sea,
Undaunted in his looking for the love that’s meant to be.
I’m down here waving wildly, in hopes Cupid will see,
And that when he shoots his arrow, it will find it’s way to me.
If his arrow flies unto me, will it inscribe your name?
Here’s hoping that it comes to you, and maybe does the same.
But if it flies on by me, your love is not to be my fate.
But my love gives up not easily, so patiently I’ll wait.
